2-DAY WORKSHOP

WHAT TO EXPECT

Join us for our 2-Day Intensive, hands-on workshop in an intimate setting where I simplify lighting in an indoor setting and an outdoor environment where we will be balancing flash with the available ambient light to create something truly dynamic.

This workshop is about working with what you have. You don’t need a fancy studio or the best camera and lighting gear. I don’t have a studio, I don’t have a fancy camera, I don’t use the best lenses and I don’t use the most expensive lighting you can get. We start off with a simple speedlight flash and move our way up to a 4-light setup and wrap up with editing and retouching.

Day 1: Glamour - We will go over a single light setup and work up to a 3 or 4 light setup in both indoor and outdoor environments with our models. I’ll explain how to balance any available ambient light with the flash, work with camera settings and your exposure triangle, what modifier to use to achieve the look you want and how to interreact with the subjects. Afterwards, you will get to practice what you’ve learned while I guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have. We will finish the day off with a culling and retouching/editing session in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop.

Day 2: Band/Music Promo - We will start off the day going over different focal lengths and what camera settings are best when working with more than 1 subject. Creative and technical differences between shooting beauty and glamour vs working with a band. We will start with a simple single light setup and work our way up to a more complex, yet extremely simple, light setup. Afterwards, I’ll give you a chance to get creative and work with the band however you’d like. I’ll be there to help out and answer any questions. Once again, we will finish off with a culling and editing session and get weird and creative with Photoshop on an awesome band edit.

WHAT TO BRING?

Bring your camera bag and a laptop/tablet if you want to edit on site or take notes. You will be using my Godox lights and trigger that will work on all cameras.
